Germany's national association of statutory health insurance physicians (KBV) has begun to offer a free service that could help expedite the introduction of devices into the ambulatory and doctors' office sector in Germany. The Innovations Service, which was started up only seven weeks ago, allows companies to approach the KBV for advice on trials and treatment methods. The service is being offered as a pre-check of data, so that when the product is advanced to the joint federal committee (G-BA) for reimbursement "approval", the process should, in theory, be expedited.
