Executive Summary
Argentine private healthcare group Genesen is committing a further US$255,000 investment in medical equipment at the Clinica Santa Maria, in Villa Ballester, Buenos Aires. The ongoing investment aims to consolidate its regional market leadership. Over the last two years, the centre has been equipped to perform cardiovascular surgery, computed tomography and haemodynamics. It was also recently appointed to perform bariatric (gastric by-pass) surgery, under what the company described as an "exclusive arrangement". Among the services offered at its private clinics are A&E; diagnostics; maternity; neonatal intensive care; and intensive care attached to its cardiovascular surgery units. In addition, Genesen operates a network of diagnostic centres in the federal district and greater Buenos Aires.
