Executive Summary
The UK's Department of Health is to carry out a series of telephone interviews with medical device manufacturers to gauge the cost to companies of compliance with regulations. It has set up an Admin Burdens Monitoring Group (ABMG) to monitor the impact of a list of regulations, such as the Medical Devices Regulation, the Blood Safety and Quality Regulation and the Human Tissue Act. The UK's Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) plans to write to chief executives of all member companies to give them the opportunity of putting their names forward as potential interviewees. Some face-to-face interviews may also take place.
