This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Mauritian prime minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam has called on the private sector to develop high-tech diagnostics in a bid to make Mauritius a hub capable of attracting "medical tourists". To this end, the country will build on its current strengths, such as cardiac surgery, and liaise with the tourism sector. It has also begun to develop a framework to control the standard of treatments that require high-end medical treatment.
