The European medical device industry association, Eucomed, has published its code of practice, updating the edition adopted in 1998. The text emphasises that compliance with applicable laws and regulations and adherence to ethical standards are an obligation for Eucomed members. It is broken down into three areas: guiding principles; specific policies; and compliance and enforcement. The section on specific policies covers subjects including interactions with healthcare professionals; advertising, unlawful payment and practices; competition/anti-trust and procurement laws; and export controls.
