The threat to medical information systems is tackled in a White Paper, entitled Defences against Malicious Logic for Medical Information Systems, which has just been issued by a joint security and privacy committee involving key experts from the US, Japan and the EU. The paper, which was drafted by associations representing the electronic and electromedical industry associations, NEMA (US), COCIR (EU) and JIRA (Japan) provides information for both manufacturers and users on how to protect such systems against viruses and such like, known as "malicious logic".
