Advanced Medical Solutions, the AIM-listed, Winsford, UK-based woundcare firm, has signed a distribution deal with a German firm for its LiquiBand adhesive wound closure products. Resorba Clinicare, based in Nuremberg, will distribute the range in Germany, focusing on the surgical wound closure market. An alternative to stitching and stapling, LiquiBand is already used in UK A&E departments, and LiquiBand Surgical was recently launched for the operating theatre. AMS says the UK's NHS spends about $100m annually on advanced woundcare dressings. Meanwhile, it is estimated that 40% of the world's $3bn suture and staple market could move to medical glues in the future.
