Sorin, the newly-listed Italian medtech group, has appointed Drago Cerchiari as CEO. Dr Cerchiari is a former vice-president of Medtronic, and was previously chairman and CEO of Pharmacia Italia. The Milan-based company, which was formed through a partial demerger from textiles and chemicals group Snia, has also appointed a board of directors. The chairman is Umberto Rosa, who is also chairman and CEO of Snia.
