The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has installed a director of policy, in a new role which replaces that of the director of executive support. Shaun Gallagher will also be responsible for links with the rest of government. As former head of industry policy at the DoH, managing the government's relationship with the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, Mr Gallagher has experience of working with both the devices and pharmaceutical sectors and other healthcare industry stakeholders. The outgoing director of executive support was Roy Alder, who has now retired.
