Irish plan for manufacturing growth:
This article was originally published in Clinica
Executive Summary
The Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC) has launched a 10-point plan aimed at halting the slide in manufacturing and R&D. IBEC is concerned that Irish manufacturing has lost 33,400 jobs over the last four years and fears a loss of competitiveness. The Irish Medical Devices Association has launched a 15-year strategy to address these and other concerns (see Clinica this issue, p 2). The plan will encourage investment and provide special support for businesses at greatest risk, says IBEC director Brendan McGinty.
