Elekta, of Stockholm, Sweden, has signed a global distribution agreement with Medical Intelligence (MI), a developer of patient fixation systems. Through this deal, Elekta will gain access to Schwabmunchen, Germany-based MI's range of radiotherapy and patient positioning systems. This includes the HexaPOD RTC - a high-precision, image-guided, robotic patient positioning system - and the BodyFix, one of MI's patient immobilisation devices. HexaPOD will be integrated into Elekta's Synergy S for stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy. The two companies have also agreed to collaborate on future product developments.
