Syneron Medical, of Yokneam, Israel, is to invest $1.5m in a majority stake in Light Instruments, an Israeli start-up specialising in dental laser technology. Syneron will acquire 51% of the firm, contingent upon a prototype device meeting certain specifications. The deal gives Syneron, which markets a radiofrequency and light-based system for aesthetic treatments, a 10-year exclusive right to North American marketing and sales of the technology.
