The French health ministry has issued a decree specifying that the diagnostic tests which are to be used in the national programme for preserving the effectiveness of antibiotics are those which permit a rapid diagnosis of group A streptococcus beta haemoloytic angina. These tests must be used and stored according to the instructions for use, the July 2 decree states.
