The company will invest the proceeds in preclinical testing of its implant to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The financing will also fund the beginning of clinical trials and the hiring of new personnel. Unlike pharmaceutical treatments for acid reflux, the company's device is designed to correct the underlying defect, it said.
