Toshiba America Medical Systems has introduced Contrast Improved Angiography (CIA) functionalities onto its range of Excelart Vantage MRI systems. CIA is a blood imaging technique designed to improve the visualisation of small vascular vessels during magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) procedures. According to the Tustin, California firm, it allows greater contrast and improved separation of arterial and venous blood flow, without the need for contrast agents. CIA is based on Toshiba's fresh blood imaging technology platform.
