The new chairman of the European association of bioindustries, EuropaBio, Hans Kast, has called for "a clear legal framework in support of biotechnology in Europe". The president and CEO of BASF Plant Science made the comments in his acceptance speech at the association's AGM on June 2. He takes on his new role just as 19 new corporate members join EuropaBio, mainly from the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, bringing the total direct company membership to over 50.
