MIV Therapeutics (Vancouver, Canada) has appointed Dhirajlal Kotadia as co-chairman and managing director for international operations. Mr Kotadia is founder and CEO of Surat, India-based advanced stents manufacturer Sahajanand Medical Technologies. His appointment is expected to accelerate the planned acquisition of Sahajanand Medical Technologies by MIVT. Mr Kotadia, a pioneer in the use of advanced laser cutting technology, built his company into both the largest privately-held producer of DESs outside North America and the third largest producer of DESs in the world, bringing affordable advanced drug-eluting stents to 35 countries worldwide.
