GMP Companies has received US FDA 510(k) clearance to market its Laparocision scope controller system for enabling surgeons to simultaneously operate a laparoscope and video camera with a convenient foot control panel while they are performing surgical procedures. The system is easy to set up, and learn, and is compatible with standard trocars, said the Fort Lauderdale, Florida firm. GMP added that it was currently assessing the best way to commercialise the product, including exploring licensing, sale and/or partnering opportunities.
