Executive Summary
Patient monitoring products firm Criticare Systems has begun manufacturing and shipping what it claims to be the first MRI monitor with 5-lead ECG waveform monitoring. Veris is compatible with 3T MRI environments and can be equipped with "leading-edge" gas technology via the integration of the Criticare respiratory analyser, says the Waukesha, Wisconsin firm. The product's target market includes what it sees as the vast installed base of MRI suites, as well as new installations using the latest high power magnet configurations. Veris, which was approved by the US FDA this year, is the result of a joint development effort with Medrad, a provider of products for enhancing imaging procedures of the body.
