Fresenius Medical Care has received a subpoena from the US Department of Justice's St Louis district office in Missouri. The dialysis products and services company has been asked to submit documents relating to medical director compensation and physician relations, joint ventures, clinical quality programmes, business development activities and its anaemia management programme, as part of a joint civil and criminal investigation of allegations against FMC. DaVita, which is acquiring Gambro Healthcare, received a similar subpoena last month.
