Affymetrix has joined forces with Paris, France-based Institut Curie to find genetic signatures for cancer that could be used to develop diagnostic tests. Affymetrix' GeneChip will be used in large-scale clinical studies to analyse the DNA sequence and gene expression for tumour samples that have been collected using Institut Curie's "snap-frozen" sampling method. According to Affymetrix, Institut Curie's method produces "exceptional quality" samples that should, in turn, produce more accurate and reliable diagnostics.
