OTC (over-the-counter) testing "exaggeration" points at something bigger

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

UK media reports that high-street pharmacy chain Boots has secured a national agreement to provide a national over-the-counter (OTC) testing service for chlamydia are "exaggerated", the company told Clinica. But whether claimed or misreported, coming as they did on the eve of a Department of Health invitation for "high-street healthcare providers" to support the national screening programme (see Clinica No 1144, p 8), point at something bigger than mere commercial or political spin.
