Germany's Schmidt sings praises of DMPs (Disease-Management -Programmes) after QA report

Germany's Disease-Management-Programmes have become a firm part of healthcare provision in Germany. So said health minister Ulla Schmidt, on the publication this week of the first quality assessment (QA) report of the DMPs, which have been established now for two-and-a-half years. The DMPs are "good for chronic patients and for doctors", who view them as providing guaranteed, high-quality treatment on an economic basis, she said.
