Gen-Probe, of San Diego, California, and partner Chiron have announced the submission of a biologics licence application (BLA) to the US FDA for a West Nile virus blood-screening assay, called Procleix. The companies are seeking approval to run the assay on Gen-Probe's semi-automated Procleix system and on its fully automated, high throughput Procleix Tigris system.
