Most of Guyana's healthcare facilities have been damaged by torrential rain, prompting the Pan American Health Organization to issue an urgent appeal for supplies and equipment. "Most of Guyana's healthcare facilities have been severely flooded, destroying equipment and supplies," says PAHO. The US' Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF), to which there is a link at the PAHO web site (www.paho.org), is among the bodies heading the relief work.
