AdvaMed is taking steps to broaden its global reach in 2005, beginning with the hiring of a state department veteran who is an expert on China. The first task for Nancy Travis, former deputy director of the department's office of economic policy, will be able to implement some of the "focused set of initiatives" fleshed out by the organisation's China working group last year, explained AdvaMed president Pamela Bailey
