Dallas, Texas-based orthopaedic adhesive developer Bone Solutions has named Dr Stephen Schendel, professor and former head of Stanford University's plastic and reconstructive surgery department, chief medical officer. Bone Solutions is developing OsteoCrete for use as a bone filler and cement in orthopaedic and dental repair. The bioabsorbable magnesium-based compound incorporates the company's BioHesive technology and is said to be able to attach not only bone to bone, but also ligaments and tendons to bone.
