Side-Branch Stent trial shows promise

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Results from the first ten patients with bifurcating coronary lesions to take part in Tryton Medical's European trial of its Side-Branch Stent (see Clinica No 1206, p 17) have shown a 100% success rate with no in-hospital complications. The stent, which is used in conjunction with a standard workhorse stent, is claimed to provide superior coverage and radial strength to the origin of the side-branch. The ten patients were treated at the Helios Heart Center in Siegburg, Germany.
