Genetix Group, the New Milton, UK-based maker of tools for genetic analysis, has increased its cash offer for US firm Applied Imaging from $18.3m to $21.2m. The move came after San Jose, California-based Applied Imaging told Genetix that it had received a better offer from an unnamed third party and intended to break off the merger agreement. The board of Applied Imaging, which makes automated cell and tissue image analysis systems, has accepted the new offer.
