Medtech equipment covered by the Medical Devices Directive is likely to have to comply with the EU Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) by 2012. That is the view of Paul Goodman of the ERA Technology consultancy that has been completing its final report for the European Commission on the possible inclusion of medical devices within the RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC).
