Joint losses of euro5.6m ($7m) at the University Clinic Giessen-Marburg held back the performance of the German-based operator of 45 private hospitals, Rhoen-Klinikum, in the first half of 2006. Other clinics were able to make up the shortfall, said management board finance director Dietmar Pawlik. For the whole year, the Frankfurt-based concern expects unchanged sales of euro1.9bn and a profit of euro93m.
