Executive Summary
Spectral Diagnostics has appointed Milan-based in vitro diagnostic products supplier Estor as distributor of its sepsis test in Italy. Under the terms of the agreement, Estor will sell Spectral's new-generation Endotoxin Activity Assay (EAA) system - designed to measure levels of blood-borne endotoxin in patients - for use in emergency and intensive care settings. Estor is also the exclusive Italian distributor of an endotoxin removal system developed by Japanese company Toray Medical, with whom Spectral recently formed a strategic alliance to improve the management of severe sepsis (see Clinica No 1210, p 14).
