The treatment of localised prostate cancer using high dose rate brachytherapy in combination with external-beam radiotherapy has been deemed safe and effective enough for use in the UK's NHS. This is one of the techniques approved this week by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), as part of its interventional procedures programme (IPP*).
