India "should deepen stem cell research and development":

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Now that Indian clinics are able to access greater volumes of pre-clinical data on stem cells, there should be a concerted effort among local physicians and scientists to start clinical studies of stem cell applications. So said Deccan College of Medicine (Hyderabad) Dean Dr Habibullah, during the Third All India Conference on Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering, last week in Bangalore. Stem cell technology is currently being applied in ophthalmology, dermatology, neural regeneration and cardiology, and to tackle peripheral vascular and liver disease.
