In a bid to streamline its supply chain and boost profit margins, breast imaging systems manufacturer Hologic has acquired the German supplier of the amorphous selenium photoconductor coatings used in its flagship line of Selenia full-field mammography detectors. The company this week bought Warstein-based AEG Elektrofotografie for Euro21m ($26.5m), paid in a cash-and-stock mix, and agreed to a one-year earn-out fee of Euro1.7m contingent on AEG's 2006 financial performance.
