GE Healthcare and R2 Technology have entered a multi-year distribution agreement in which GE will market outside the US R2's ImageChecker D mammography computer-assisted detection (CAD) system together with its Senographe range of full-field digital mammography systems. These include the GE Senographe 2000D, Senographe DS and the new GE Senographe Essential once it is commercially available. Sunnyvale, California-based R2, whose ImageChecker was the first CAD system to be approved by the FDA for mammography, has recently been acquired by breast imaging company Hologic.
