Irish health minister and Tanaiste Mary Harney has signed the regulations transposing the EU's Directive 2004/23/EC on the quality and safety of human tissues and cells into national law. The measures, approved on April 7, cover the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human tissues and cells intended for human applications and for manufactured products derived from human tissues and cells and intended for human applications.
