Qiagen, a leading provider in preanalytical and assay products, has had its artus Influenza/H5 LC RT-PCR kit approved by the Institut Pasteur in France, as a standard component of its influenza screening programmes. The kit, which is for research use only, can detect levels of human and avian flu in very low levels, says the Venlo, Netherlands-based firm. The evaluation was carried out by the National Reference Centre for Influenza in France, which is a division of the Institut Pasteur.
