GE Healthcare has entered an exclusive agreement with Waukesha, Wisconsin-based wireless technologies specialist MP4 Solutions that will enable it to offer obstetricians a mobile solution to monitoring the progress of patients in labour. GE Healthcare, headquartered in Amersham, UK, will integrate MP4's AirStip OB software technology into its Centricity Perinatal data processing system. This allows doctors to remotely access current and historical patient data through a handheld computer, as well view real-time waveform data as would be seen on a monitor in labour and delivery units.
