Executive Summary

Melville, New York-based electrosurgical products developer Bovie Medical is expected to bring to market in fiscal 2006 what it claims to be the first modular instrument for the arthroscopy market. Bovie acquired the modular forceps from Henvil, which designed the ergonomically friendly device with both reusable and disposable components for cost-effectiveness. Commercial prototypes have been developed and a patent is pending on the product.
