Misuse of devices and the need to regulate new technologies and clinical trials were among the topics discussed at the Second National Bioethics Conference, 2007, in Bangalore, India. The 200 delegates from India, the US, the UK, Canada, Germany and Australia, among others attending the conference heard that financial incentives are the "cause of a trend of malpractice by hospitals".
