GE Healthcare has expanded it relationship with Confirma, a computer-aided detection (CAD) technology specialist, to include more customer support for GE's MRI scanning technology. The new agreement sees Confirma offer programme consultation, application training, educational courses, and marketing and reimbursement advice to GE customers with the CADstream, the standard imaging device for MRI. The partnership between the two companies has been running since 2004, in a bid to provide improved MRI scanning to sufferers of breast cancer. There are currently 800 CADstream installations worldwide, 200 of which are at GE customer sites.
