Brazil has published a draft "technical regulation for the import and export of materials of any nature for the purpose of healthcare research", for consultation. The document sets out the terms, conditions and administrative processes that the national science and technology development council (CNPq), primarily, will apply as certifier of all medical research institutions and as regulator of trade in this area. The draft resolution (RDC) of healthcare regulatory agency Anvisa appears in the Diario Oficial da Uniao (DOU) of December 10 2007, and is open for consultation for 30 days.
