Executive Summary
Orthopaedics device manufacturer Symmetry Medical is expanding its manufacturing capacity with the acquisition of a production facility from Johnson & Johnson-subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics. Under the terms of the agreement, Warsaw, Indiana-based Symmetry will pay $45m in cash for the New Bedford, Massachusetts plant. In addition, DePuy has agreed to make minimum purchases from the facility for four years after the acquisition is completed. The transaction is expected to close before the end of February 2008.
