VNUS Medical Technologies (San Jose, California), a company that specialises in devices for minimally-invasive treatment of venous disease, has appointed Kirti Kamdar as senior vice-president of R&D. Mr Kamdar has worked in medical device R&D for 20 years and joins the company from Cardiac Dimensions (Kirkland, Washington), where he was the firm's senior vice-president. He has served in several senior management roles within the industry including at Vascular Architects, Somnus Medical Technologies and Mallinckrodt Medical.
