Major investments in hospitals for the Middle East region, led by Saudi Arabia, are expected to be announced at the Arab Health meeting in Dubai, on January 28-31. Approximately $10bn ($6.5bn in Saudi Arabia) is to be spent, across the public and private sectors, on building hospitals and clinics (this figure does not include medical equipment) according to statistics compiled by Dubai-based market research firm Proleads.
