UK autism centre boosts MEG (Magnetoencephalography) resources

Executive Summary

The UK specialist unit for autism research, the Oxford Neurodevelopmental Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Centre, has been opened officially with MEG technology from Stockholm-based Elekta. The Swedish company's Neuromag MEG system (with 306 MEG-channel sensor array) will enable staff at the centre, housed within the Warneford Hospital (University of Oxford department of psychiatry) to noninvasively register nerve cell activity in the brain in real time.
