Consistent with its strategy to divest non-core technologies, sleep and respiratory disorders company Respironics has sold its Novametrix pulse oximetry business to its long-term Brazilian manufacturing and marketing partner Dixtal Biomedica. Murrysville, Pennsylvania-based Respironics will retain its NICO2, Tidal Wave and CO2SMO pulse oximetry lines. Dixtal, which specialises in multi-parameter monitoring products, made the acquisition through its Dixtal Medical subsidiary. It has been selling the Novametrix products in Brazil for the last 15 years. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
