Executive Summary
Siemens Medical Solutions has prolonged its deadline for its all-cash tender offer for shares of Deerfield, Illinois-based Dade Behring until September 26 2007. The transaction, which is being made through Siemens' subsidiary Belfast Merger, is worth $7bn and will see the German diagnostics giant become the first full-service company in its field (see Clinica No 1267, p 1). As of September 5, just under half of Dade's outstanding shares remain outstanding.
