Executive Summary

The Therapeutic Goods Amendment Bill 2007 was passed by Australia's parliament on August 17. The Therapeutic Goods Amendment Act 2007, as it will be known once it has gained "royal assent", will ensure the ongoing supply of medical devices during the transition to the new regulatory system. The Act is due to come into force on October 3.
